Last night (June 15, 2012), fans of Steven Spielberg’s iconic film E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial celebrated the film’s 30th Anniversary and upcoming release on Blu-ray at a free outdoor screening in conjunction with the LA Film Fest presented by Film Independent at FIGat7th in downtown Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition gathered dozens of bicyclists to pay homage to the famous film scene where Henry Thomas’ character Elliot rides his bike with E.T. by recreating that moment near the entrance of the event. 13-year-old Daniel Oakes led the charge with an E.T. plush in tow. Hundreds of fans also paid tribute to the film by donning commemorative red sweatshirts as they watched the screening.
