Consumer Demand for Omega-3 Products Continues to Grow Briskly Over the 2012-2015 Period!

If it seems like you’re seeing “Omega-3” all over the place, it’s because you are. With the recent myriad of studies, articles, and opinions on this powerful little fatty acid, if you haven’t seen it lately, you just might be living under that proverbial rock – Here’s a spattering of actual article headlines on Google:

And these are just a few examples of the power of Omega-3. Studies are being conducted around the clock on these magnificent nutrients, revealing an endless amount of health benefits—everything from anti-aging and weight loss to support for cardio, respiratory, and gastro-intestinal systems to even a reduction in the risk of cancer. Obviously, there are many reasons to make sure you’re getting your Omega-3. Here is our Trend Round-up of the Top Five Favorite ways people are getting their Omega-3s!

1)    Fish Oil Capsules – Though considered a bit old fashioned, fish oil capsules are still a very popular way for people to get their daily intake of Omega-3. Why? These capsules can pack a punch! Some brands like Nature’s Bounty can deliver up to 1,200 mg of omega-3 per dose!

2)    Foods & Diet – The natural way people provide their bodies with Omega-3. Research on the sources of Omega-3 reveal that certain foods – like fish, beans, nuts and seeds, spinach, broccoli, and others – contain the popular Omega-3 nutrient. I’m sure we don’t have to remind you that these sources are great for diets, too!

3)    Camouflaged Omegas – Another way to get your omegas? Drop it in! Many people are buying omega oils in pure form and adding them to food, recipes, and even beauty products. Check out SeabuckWonders, whose sea buckthorn contains not only Omega-3, but omegas-6, 7 and 9 for added health and beauty benefits. These oils are USDA certified organic and, best of all, completely edible. Although sea buckthorn has a slightly bitter taste, it camouflages well in foods and trumps the taste of adding fish oil and flax seed to your meals!

4)    Omega Enhanced Beverages – One of the newest ways of receiving omega-3s is by drinking them! Check out Omega-3Water™. Since its debut in June 2012, it has been chosen as one of the “Top 12 Best New Products” in the exclusive Bevnet LIVE New Beverage Showdown and featured on Good Morning San Diego as a go-to summer drink! Bold Berry and Orange Kiwi not only taste great, but they’re fortified with 20,000 mg of Omega-3 from flaxseed (vegetarian friendly and Kosher) adding an additional, fun source of Omega-3 to your rotation.

5)    Canola Oil – Less expensive than olive oil, canola oil can also withstand higher cooking temperatures. This heart-healthy oil contains 1,300 mg of Omega-3s per tablespoon (more than olive oil), but both make excellent choices for increasing your consumption of the Omega-3 nutrient.
