The 2nd Annual New York International Short Film Festival (NY Shorts Fest) is now accepting submissions of live-action, documentary and animated short films and videos for its International Competition, which will take place May 29-31, 2013 in New York City.
The early submission deadline (with reduced entry fee) is December 7, 2012; the regular deadline is February 22, 2013; the late deadline is March 29, 2013. Entry forms and requirements are available on the Festival website (www.NYshortsFest.com).
Created by the Oscar®-qualifying Los Angeles International Short Film Festival (LA Shorts Fest), the New York International Short Film Festival provides filmmakers with an opportunity to receive recognition and premiere their short film projects in New York City. The Festival accepts short films up to 60 minutes in runtime in genres including drama, comedy, animation, documentary and experimental.
At the inaugural NY Shorts Fest, held at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema, winners included Ricky Gervais’ Derek which won for Best Comedy. Other award winners were The Man Who Knew How to Fly (Best Drama), the Oscar-nominated A Morning Stroll (Best Animation) and Harry Grows Up (Best of New York).
