The moment independent film lovers wait for all year has arrived. The Sundance Film Festival officially kicks off this week, transforming Park City and Salt Lake City into a global hub for bold storytelling, fresh perspectives, and visionary filmmaking. From premieres and shorts to immersive artist talks and cultural moments, Sundance 2026 once again sets the tone for the year ahead in film, media, and creative innovation.
As banners rise along Main Street and festivalgoers finalize schedules, the excitement is unmistakable. Single film tickets are still available—though seating is limited—for highly anticipated titles including Tell Me Everything, Take Me Home, The Brittney Griner Story, and more. Sold-out screenings may still offer hope, as waitlists open and additional tickets are released daily throughout the Festival.
To enhance the festival experience, Park City Main Street will be pedestrian-only each day from Thursday, January 22 through Monday, January 26, beginning at 10 a.m. The closure spans Swede Alley to 7th Street, creating a walkable, energetic corridor filled with screenings, pop-ups, and spontaneous conversations that define the Sundance vibe.
For those tuning in from home, the Short Films Pass: Online offers a front-row seat to Sundance’s celebrated short film programs from January 29 to February 1. Viewers can stream fiction, nonfiction, animated, Midnight, and Documentary shorts on demand, including standout projects like Taga, Luigi, and many more.
Beyond the screen, Sundance is also about the experience. Festival merch drops across five store locations—including the Main Street Festival Store—feature exclusive items like the Relaxed Twill Heritage Cap, Cloud Layer Hoodie, and Insulated Camp Cup. And for those packing for Utah’s winter climate, don’t forget the essentials: gloves, scarves, warm headwear, and a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated at elevation.
