The Grammy Museum turned its multi-level space into a living tribute to hip-hop culture on June 5, 2025, with an electrifying Hip-Hop Block Party. The Los Angeles Double Dutch Club energized the entrance at 7:15 PM, setting the mood for an evening full of unity, creativity, and rhythm.
The Culture United Podcast provided stirring cultural commentary on the second floor of the Clive Davis Theater, which was followed by two exciting Krump dance performances that captured the unadulterated spirit of street expression and movement. Graciously Noticed, Tyler Van Gotti x Benjamin Carter, and Dstryr’s late-night set enthralled audiences upstairs on the third floor with music that appealed to both hearts and subwoofers.
The fourth floor featured several open mic sessions centered around lyrical genius. Wave after wave of poets and storytellers took the stage, incorporating spoken word with themes of resistance, love, and identity. In addition, attendees took part in Urban MusiQ: A Game Night for Music Nerds, which combined hip-hop trivia with friendship to create a distinctively engaging event.
The celebration culminated in a lively jam session led by NBMC on the fifth floor’s Ray Charles Terrace. Attendees enjoyed a performance by the SYNCOPATED LADIES earlier in the evening, which featured their daring blend of hip-hop and tap dance, as well as an unforgettable DJ set by R-Tistic that kept the party going long after ten o’clock.
More than just a party, the occasion served as a showcase for the richness and variety of hip-hop as an art form. The Grammy Museum brought generations together in a common area of storytelling, music, and movement by showcasing both up-and-coming artists and well-established talent.
