Nia Long, Cadillac, American Black Film Festival For ABFF Strikes For Education

On Saturday, April 21st, The American Black Film Festival (ABFF) and Cadillac have joined forces for the 1st Annual ABFF Strikes for Education that was held at Lucky Strike in Hollywood, California. ABFF Founder Jeff Friday and Actress Nia Long were the host for this signature event. Actor/Comedian Chris Spencer served as MC and Southland’s Dorian Missick was the D.J of the evening. The event, raised awareness of the Film Life Foundation to provide necessary funding for programs designed to educate and empower underprivileged youth interested in film and television careers.

The ABFF Strikes for Education charity bowling gala brought artists, athletes and entertainment executives together in a fun-filled and spirited night of competition for a great cause. A portion of the proceeds raised go directly to the general scholarship fund at the John H. Johnson School of Communications at Howard University. Celebrities attendees include: Jason George (Grey’s Anatomy), Joyful Drake (Lets Stay Together) Rutina Wesley (True Blood), Amin Joseph (G.I. Joe), Tatyana Ali, Director/Producer F. Gary Gray, singer Luke James, actor Wesley Jonathan, Producer/Actor Datari Turner, and many notable celebrities. Photography Kaleef Thompson

The Film Life Foundation, the not-for-profit arm of Film Life, Inc., is dedicated to fostering diversity within the motion picture and television industries. Its mission is to inspire and support underprivileged minority youth interested in pursing careers in film through funding grants, facilitating mentoring programs, sponsoring educational workshops and career development programs.

The ABFF is a property of Film Life, Inc., a New York-based event marketing, production and distribution company founded in 2000 by Jeff Friday (CEO). Established in 1997, the core mission of the ABFF is to promote cultural diversity within the motion picture industry by strengthening the Black filmmaking community through resource sharing, education, artistic collaboration and career development.
