Mark Wahlberg & LaKeith Stanfield Star in Play Dirty – Official Trailer & Images Out Now!

Amazon MGM Studios has dropped the explosive trailer and first-look images for Play Dirty, a gritty, high-stakes action thriller directed by Shane Black (Iron Man 3, The Nice Guys). Slated to premiere globally on Prime Video October 1, the film brings together a powerhouse cast led by Mark Wahlberg and LaKeith Stanfield in a sharp, fast-moving caper that blends clever twists, raw grit, and pure entertainment.

At the center of the story is Parker (Wahlberg), an expert thief who plots the biggest heist of his life. Partnering with Grofield (Stanfield), Zen (Rosa Salazar), and a crew of daring professionals, Parker sets his sights on a score that could change their lives forever. But in true Shane Black fashion, nothing goes smoothly—soon the team finds themselves in the crosshairs of the New York mob, setting off a chain reaction of double-crosses, brutal confrontations, and razor-sharp dialogue.

A Shane Black Signature

Known for redefining the buddy-action genre with Lethal Weapon and later crafting stylish hits like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Black infuses Play Dirty with his trademark blend of dark humor, sharp character dynamics, and explosive set pieces. Co-written with Charles Mondry and Anthony Bagarozzi, the script adapts the “Parker” book series by Richard Stark, a cult favorite in crime fiction.

The result is a film that balances old-school grit with modern edge, designed for both long-time fans of the Parker novels and a new generation of action-thriller enthusiasts.

The Cast Brings Firepower

Mark Wahlberg leads as Parker, blending charisma with steel-edged toughness. Known for roles in The Departed and Uncharted, Wahlberg embodies the calculating thief who thrives on risk.

LaKeith Stanfield (Sorry to Bother You, Judas and the Black Messiah) delivers his signature intensity as Grofield, Parker’s partner-in-crime whose smooth talk and unpredictability make him a wildcard in every scene.

The ensemble cast includes:

  • Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angel) as Zen, the sharp strategist with nerves of steel

  • Keegan-Michael Key in a surprising turn that balances humor with danger

  • Chukwudi Iwuji (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) bringing gravitas and menace

  • Nat Wolff, Thomas Jane, and Tony Shalhoub, rounding out the supporting roles with texture and unexpected flair

This combination of seasoned stars and versatile performers ensures a dynamic chemistry that keeps audiences on edge from start to finish.
