The Fall 14 Los Angeles Fashion Market took place at the California Market Center (CMC) from March 16-19. Exhibitors from SELECT Contemporary Tradeshow and TRANSIT Footwear and Accessories Show reported new accounts opened, while CMC showrooms, new and established, noted steady traffic from buyers and companies.
“We have had a showroom at the CMC for about 12 years,” said David Perlman, CEO of Perlmanrep and Co-Founder of International Brands in America. “We were very busy during this Market. The quality of buyers was great and the orders were larger than expected. ”
Key buyers and stores that attended the Show included Nordstrom, LF Stores, Kitson on Robertson, Revolve Clothing, Emphatic- Fred Segal, Nasty Gal, Piperlime, Four Seasons Hotel Beverly/Wilshire, The Red Balloon, Modcloth, Zappos, Duck and Dressing, Planet Blue, Tilly’s, Amazon.com, Lord and Taylor, 7 For All Mankind, Arden B, Circular, Boogie’s Retail, Catalina Gear, A & A Retail Inc, Runaway Gypsy, Saks Fifth Avenue, George’s Cibaud Boutique, Celeste, Jeranamo, Lil Monster, West Fourth Ave, Island Outfitters, Le Dress, Hotel del Coronado, Little Me’s, Wish Boutique, Bella Moda, Castle Couture, Len Druskin, Primitive, Assi Design Studio, Village Kitchen Shoppe, The Haunted House on Hill, Wynn Las Vegas, American Rag & Cie, Brigade LA, Clover, Polkadots & Moonbeams and many more.
Also notable this Market were buyers from across the globe including Mexico, China, Indonesia, Japan, Canada, the Bahamas, France, Chile, and the UK.
New to the CMC, Emmanuelle Rienda, Founder and Creative Director of Le FrenchLab described positive feedback from buyers about their showroom collections and Fashion Shows during Sunday’s Opening Night Reception, “We are really grateful for the CMC’s warm welcome to the building by helping present our Fre(n)sh Fashion Shows. LA Fashion Market has also been a great opportunity to build relationships with new buyers. We are excited to be able to welcome them into our new showroom.”
Los Angeles Men’s Market (LAMM) also made its return, running concurrently with LA Fashion Market. Kellen Roland, President of The NTWRK Agency and Co-Organizer of LAMM reported the success of the Show, which included a notable cross section of retailers such as American Rag, Revolve Clothing, Len Drusken, Neiman Marcus, Suru, Neo 39, Number A, and more.
“We are very pleased with the turn out,” said Roland. “We had more buyers come Day 1 than we did at our initial first Men’s Market. We also noticed buyers were spending more time with brands and writing orders. This is one step closer to our goal of making LA Men’s Market a vital stop for buyers when planning out their yearly schedules.”
Additionally, new exhibitors at special exhibit area, SELECT Contemporary Tradeshow, confirmed reports of success throughout the Show. Sarah Zane, national sales representative for Miami based accessories brand, By Lilla, made their West Coast debut, “We had such a great Show. We opened somewhere between 15-20 new accounts. We are extremely happy and will be returning for the Spring Show.”
Likewise, exhibitors at TRANSIT Footwear & Accessories Show saw traffic from new buyers. Ed Goetz, Account Executive for MIA Shoes, has been exhibiting at TRANSIT for close to 15 years. “Traffic was good,” Goetz said. “We opened several new accounts. That’s what makes the Show great.”
