Karen Bass has been sworn in as the first black African-American female mayor for Los Angeles. A plethora of special events throughout L.A. county have inspired many people to celebrate and support a new change in leadership as we move into 2023.
A signature celebratory music event hosted by KBLA’s founder Tavis Smiley was among the curated socially conscious community events that brought L.A. supporters out to share in the love of the new mayor elect.
Music icons such as the The Whispers, Scottie and Walter, Goapele, Brian McKnight and Club Nouveau came out to share support and many performed at this historic event that was the highlight within the centre of Leimert Park | Crenshaw historical community.
