HollyShorts www.hollyshorts.com has formed a strategic alliance with the NociCortinfestival http://www.nocicinema.it the largest short film festival of the Southern-Italian region of Puglia—the heel of the Italian boot. The agreement which totals over $12,000 in cash and service prizes for two lucky filmmakers, one US-based and the other based in Europe calls for a special competition amongst submitted films from both festivals.
Delegates from the NociCortinfestival will handpick a selection of top short films submitted to the HollyShorts Film Festival to be screened in August at the NociCortinfestival and among these films one filmmaker will receive a special award from NociCortinfestival and will receive an all expense paid trip to Italy to present their work to the European public.
In addition, delegates from Hollyshorts will choose a selection of works from among the films submitted to NociCortinfestival to be screened in August at the 8th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival, and among these films one will receive the Special HollyShorts Jury’s Choice Award. The director of the winning film will be flown out to Los Angeles to present his work to the American public.

NociCortinfestival is the largest short film festival of the Southern-Italian region of Puglia—the heel of the Italian boot. Since 2005, each August the picturesque town of Noci hosts this vibrant festival which combines the best of contemporary short-film culture with the pleasures of summer in Southern Italy, offering an unforgettable experience for cinema professionals and enthusiasts from around Italy and around the world.
All films at the festival are in competition for several awards, including the Nocicortinfestival Award, the City of Noci Award and the Special Hollyshorts Award. Prizes total over $6000 in cash and services. This year’s edition of Nocicortinfestival has several exciting features. Short-films, sent before May 27st 2012, will have a chance to be screened at the HollyShorts Film Festival, one of the American Film Industry’s premier short-film festivals, held annually in Hollywood, California.
All short-films submitted to NociCortinfestival, are also candidates for the Special Hollyshorts Award, an exceptional opportunity for filmmakers made possible by a new partnership between NociCinema and Hollyshorts. Delegates from Hollyshorts will choose a selection of works from among the films submitted to NociCortinfestival to be screened in August at the HollyShorts Film Festival, and among these films one will receive the Special HollyShorts Award. The director of the winning film will fly to Los Angeles to present his work to the American public.
In addition to the special Hollyshorts Award, our annual NociCortinfestival Award will go to the best film selected by our jury, with the winner receiving a 1000 € prize.
