GoPro, Inc. (NASDAQ: GPRO) has announced its return to the renowned Red Bull Rampage as the official action camera sponsor for the 2024 event, taking place on the dramatic red cliffs of Virgin, Utah. This year marks a historic moment for the competition, as it will feature its inaugural women’s event on October 10, followed by the men’s event on October 12.
As the world’s premier freeride mountain biking competition, Red Bull Rampage showcases elite athletes navigating challenging terrains. This year, GoPro will equip all competitors, including its athletes, with the cutting-edge HERO13 Black, featuring the new Ultra Wide Lens for a fully immersive experience.
Women Make Their Mark
The 2024 edition of the event is groundbreaking, with female athletes competing for the first time. GoPro athletes Vero Sandler and Casey Brown will be among the trailblazing women participating, setting the stage for an intense and exciting showdown against the world’s top female freeriders. Both Sandler and Brown have established themselves as pioneers, constantly pushing the boundaries of freeride mountain biking.
Showcasing the HERO13 Black
GoPro’s latest innovation, the HERO13 Black, is designed to capture every detail of the action. It comes equipped with the premium HB-Series Ultra Wide Lens Mod, expanding the field of view to 177°. This upgrade provides a 36% wider and 48% taller shot compared to the standard lens, allowing fans to experience the thrill of the terrain like never before. Additionally, the camera’s HyperSmooth stabilization ensures silky smooth footage even in the most extreme conditions.
“Red Bull Rampage is the ultimate test for freeride mountain biking,” stated Rick Loughery, VP of Global Marketing at GoPro. “We’re thrilled to witness top male and female athletes push their limits while our HERO13 Black captures the action from unparalleled perspectives.”
