For the third consecutive year, Billboard, the world’s premier music brand, Telemundo Media, and Cardenas Marketing Network (CMN), the leading Latin entertainment company in the U.S. and Latin America, announced dates, artists and venues for the 3rd Annual Billboard Latin Music Concert Series, “Billboard En Concierto,” presented by State Farm® in association with Bud Light and produced by CMN.
“The fact that Billboard En Concierto continues to grow only confirms our commitment to the Latin market as the premiere music brand in the world,” said Leila Cobo, Billboard’s executive director of Latin content & programming. “And taking music directly to the fans is the ultimate celebration. We’re thrilled to have Gloria Trevi and Reik as headliners this year, continuing what has become a tradition of excellence with Billboard En Concierto.”
The highly anticipated, seven-city concert series will feature performances by two of Mexico’s biggest pop imports, rock sensation Reik and pop queen Gloria Trevi. The chart topping band will kick off the 2012 “Billboard en Concierto” on Tuesday, April 3 at 8:00 p.m. ET at the House of Blues in Los Angeles, CA, and the trio will go on to play at New York’s Best Buy Theatre (April 5) and Houston’s Warehouse live (April 7) before wrapping up the series in Dallas at the House of Blues (April 8).
Hailing from Mexicali, Baja California, Reik was formed in 2004 and is comprised of Jesus Navarro (vocals), Julio Ramirez (acoustic guitar) and Bibi Marin (electric guitar). Prior to their breakout album “Secuencia” (2006), the band worked the Mexican underground club scene where some of their recordings, such as “Levemente” and “Ahora Sin Ti,” made them local celebrities. The band has since sold millions of albums and won countless accolades.

Trevi, dubbed “The Supreme Diva of Mexican Pop,” has been touring in support of her latest recording, “Gloria.” The album’s first single, “Me Rio De Ti,” was an instant success, debuting at No. 1 in iTunes Mexico in the “Pop Latino” category. The singer/songwriter, who revolutionized Mexican pop/rock in the 1990’s, will kick off the second half of the “Billboard En Concierto” series on Apr. 10 at the Fillmore in San Francisco, CA, and will go on to play at Chicago’s V-Live and Miami’s Fillmore on Apr. 12 and Apr. 14, respectively.
Telemundo will air the 23rd Annual Billboard Latin Music Awards, presented by State Farm, on April 26 live from the BankUnited Center in Miami. The Billboard Latin Music Awards honor the most popular albums, songs and performers in Latin music, as determined by the actual sales, radio airplay and social media activity that informs Billboard’s weekly charts. The awards are the culmination of the Billboard Latin Music Conference, presented by State Farm, the largest gathering of Latin music professionals in the world, taking place April 24-26 in Miami.
