Global superstar Ed Sheeran has now released a duet of “Perfect” with Andrea Bocelli. Ed’s brother Matthew Sheeran – a classical composer – had a vision for an orchestral version of the song and composed the arrangement, which was recorded around the same time as the original. Later, both Ed and Matthew had the idea to ask Andrea to sing on it. The duet and its beautiful, accompanying visual were recorded at Andrea’s Italian home in October this year.
Earlier this week, “Perfect” climbed to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Sheeran the ONLY lead artist with 2 singles to top the chart this year (his 7x-Platinum “Shape Of You” debuted at #1 on the Hot 100 back in January, held the top spot for a remarkable 12 weeks, and remained in the top 10 for 33 consecutive weeks, the most ever in the chart’s 59-year history). The official music video for “Perfect” – which was released in November and has already amassed over 290 million views – can be viewed HERE.
“Perfect” is the latest single off of Sheeran’s blockbuster 3rd studio album “÷” (pronounced “divide”), making it the only album of the year to have 2 singles go to #1, not to mention being one of the year’s biggest without any sign of slowing down. After debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200 with the biggest first week sales at the time of its March release, the 2x-Platinum album has remained in the chart’s top 10 for a staggering 36 weeks (including 20 consecutive weeks), and recently returned to the top 5, climbing to #4 this week.
Sheeran will return for his first-ever North American stadium tour next summer, beginning on August 18th at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA, and continue into November. For a complete list of dates, ticketing information, and more, visit http://www.edsheeran.com/NATour2018.
