The AI Entertainment & Technology Summit: A Virtual Event on the Future of Entertainment

Keynote Sessions

Monday, July 22, 2024 The opening day will feature two evening keynote roundtables. The first session, “The AI & Entertainment Innovation Roundtable,” will run from 8:00 PM to 8:50 PM ET. This roundtable will bring together top executives from major entertainment and technology organizations, including Phil Wiser from Paramount Global, Samira Panah Bakhtiar from AWS, Eliot Sakhartov from Microsoft, Michael Kaplan from NVIDIA, and Seth Hallen, the moderator and President of the Hollywood Professional Association.

Following this, from 9:00 PM to 9:50 PM ET, the second session titled “AI, Cinematic, Apple Vision Pro/Spatial and Media Artists: The Next Level of Creativity” will take place. This session will feature notable speakers such as Robert Legato, Kymber Lim, Ed Ulbrich, Robert Keyghobad, Keith Soljacich, and Eric Levin. They will explore the new frontiers of AI and cinematic creation, discussing innovative experiences enabled by AI, XR, and spatial technologies.

Tuesday, July 23, 2024 The second day of the summit will continue with exciting keynote sessions. At 8:00 PM ET, the session “Brands & Agencies as Global Studios: The Medium is the Message” will examine the paradigm shift in consumer reach and engagement through global brands and agencies powered by AI and new media technologies. Speakers will include Valerie Madden, Melissa Bolton-Klinger, Adam Simon, Shannon Pruitt, and moderator Greg Kahn.

At 9:00 PM ET, the session “AI and the Crisis of Creative Rights and Disinformation: Deep Fakes, Ethics and the Law” will delve into the ethical and legal challenges posed by AI, especially in the context of deep fakes and disinformation. This critical discussion will feature Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, Ellen L. Weintraub, Ilke Demir, Rob Rosenberg, and moderator Lisa Oratz.

Wednesday, July 24, 2024 The final day will open with a session titled “A Meditation on Bad Hollywood: A Warning from the Creative Community – ‘Is the Future Synthetic Entertainment’,” scheduled for 8:00 PM ET. This session will reflect on the ongoing concerns within the creative community about the impact of AI on the future of entertainment. Speakers will include Danielle Van Lier, Charlie Fink, Marie Kelly, Bryn Mooser, Caleb Ward, and Chris Regina.

The last keynote session, “AI-Powered Business Models for Media and Entertainment: Opportunities and Investment Strategies,” will take place at 9:00 PM ET. This session will explore the economic opportunities and investment strategies within the AI-driven entertainment industry. Esteemed speakers such as Guy Gadney, Marcie Jastrow, Virl Hill, Matt Edelman, Dan Goman, and Seth Shapiro will share their insights.

Daytime Events

Tuesday, July 23, 2024 Daytime events will begin with “Architects of AI and Entertainment,” running from noon to 12:50 PM ET. This session will feature industry pioneers like Eric Shamlin, Boo Wong, Dave Clark, Tyler Cohen, and moderator John Canning, discussing the evolution of AI in Hollywood and its transformative power in film, live experiences, games, and advertising.

Following this, at 1:00 PM ET, the session “The Clones Have Arrived! What You Need to Know,” hosted by SAG-AFTRA, will provide an in-depth look at the protections achieved in collective bargaining agreements and the ongoing legislative efforts to address the impact of AI on the entertainment industry.
