The 17th Annual Los Angeles, Italia Film Festival, taking place March 20-26 at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres* and online at eventive.org and Mymovies.it, will highlight Italy’s longstanding cinematic, lifestyle and artistic legacy and will introduce current Italian productions and personalities to the United States.
This year’s program will be honoring the 2022 Italian Oscar nominees: director Paolo Sorrentino (The Hand of God), costume-designer Massimo Cantini Parrini (Cyrano) and animation master Enrico Casarosa (Luca by Pixar). And also legendary actors Riccardo Scamarcio, Benedetta Porcaroli, Filippo Scotti; directors Valerio Zanoli and Alessandro Pondi.
Highlights of the program at the Hollywood Chinese Theater include Oscar contender for Best International Film The Hand of God, introduced by director Paolo Sorrentino and lead actor Filippo Scotti; the last work by Giuseppe Piccioni Shadow of the Day with actors Riccardo Scamarcio and Benedetta Porcaroli in attendance; Mario Martone’s The King of Laughter; The De Filippos by Sergio Rubini; Comedians by Gabriele Salvatores and Superheroes by Paolo Genovese.
The Festival will also honor Cinematographer Dante Spinotti who received Oscar nominations for L.A. Confidential and The Insider and remember the legendary actor Vittorio Gassman (1922 -2000) on the 100th anniversary of his birth with a special tribute and screenings both in person and online.
