FENDI Chairman and CEO Pietro Beccari together with Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi and key representatives of the City of Rome, including the Mayor Gianni Alemanno, today announced FENDI’s sponsorship of the restoration of one of Rome’s most precious and loved monuments the Trevi Fountain.
The Italian fashion house boasts deep historical ties with the city of Rome, and has always looked to the city for endless inspiration and cultural stimuli for their runway collections.
The restoration of the Trevi Fountain is the first in a series of conservation interventions which FENDI intends to support through “FENDI for FOUNTAINS” — a project conceived to restore and safeguard historical fountains in the city of Rome, including the four late Renaissance Fountains of Piazza Quattro Fontane.
More specifically, FENDI has agreed to cover the costs of the restoration intervention on the Trevi Fountain in the amount of 2,120,000 Euros (approximately USD $2,853,308.00) and additionally, the Company will make a significant contribution towards the cost of the restoration intervention on the Four Fountains, located on the corner of the namesake street with Via XX Settembre.
