Gloria Estefan takes The Standards Overseas

International superstar Gloria Estefan embarked on a major European tour to promote her new album, The Standards. The tour will take her to several stops including London, Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Belgium – to reunite with her European fan base, appearing on major television shows and performing The Standards Live in Concert  including tonight’s SOLD OUT show at the iconic, Royal Albert Hall.

Over the course of her illustrious career, Gloria Estefan has sold over 100 million records and earned seven Grammy Awards. It has been a lifelong vision of Gloria’s to record an entire album of standards – songs that have a very special meaning in her life. The Standards, which celebrates classic tunes from the American Songbook, includes songs such as Good Morning Heartache and How Long Has This Been Going On. The album features collaborations with award-winning artists like singer songwriter Laura Pausini, violinist Joshua Bell and saxophonist Dave Koz. The Standards debuted in the Top 20 on Billboard’s Album chart, reached #1 on Amazon Bestsellers charts in Music, Pop, Vocal Pop, Broadway & Vocalist, iTunes Latino and Barnes & Noble. With the release of the CD this week (10/14) in the UK, the album is already #5 on Amazon’s Top Sellers list.

Gloria Estefan received a boisterous standing ovation from the entire audience gathered at the historic Royal Albert Hall. “It has always been a dream of mine to perform at the Royal Albert Hall because of its incredible history and elegance.  To perform songs from my new album, and my hits with a new twist, took my excitement for this concert to an entirely new level. Performing in the UK is always a highlight as the fans are so amazing.” said Gloria. tonight’s performance began a string of LIVE concerts across Europe that will feature Estefan performing the Standards and fan favorite songs from her hit catalog. Next week, Estefan will appear in Madrid and Paris. On October 29th she will perform the Standards LIVE in Basel, Switzerland, at the Baloise Session, a popular Swiss lifestyle-music festival. Estefan will also perform 13 live concerts as part of the annual series Night of the Proms in Belgium and Holland.  The concert series features a combination of pop music and popular classical music.  It is the largest annually organized indoor event in Europe.
