E.K. Art Gallery Debuts The Amazing Park Sang-Won Photo Exhibition in Los Angeles

Park Sang-Won

Last night, the E.K. Art Gallery, located at 1125 S. Crenshaw Blvd., Los Angeles, hosted an invitational solo photo exhibition by the famous Korean actor and photographer, Park Sang-Won. Park is known for starring in some of the highest-rating Korean dramas of all time, but his talents go beyond acting. He is also a skilled photographer, and his latest exhibition, entitled A Monologue, a Shadow, and a Scene, showcases his most recent works.

Park Sang-Won’s aim with this exhibition was to capture moments where all senses are temporarily restrained, and he achieved this by photographing daily scenery through the viewfinder. His photographs reflect a collaboration between his intention as an artist, the audience’s imagination, studio and punctum, and various chemical reactions. Similar to Henri Cartier Bresson’s “The Decisive Moment,” Park Sang-Won wants to show “The Decisive Scene” through his photography.

The exhibition features about 40 photographs, including works from Park’s first photo exhibition, A Monologue, in 2008, his second photo exhibition, A Shadow, in 2012, and his third photo exhibition, A Scene, in 2020. The photographs capture blissful days in Seoul and scenery from Jeju Island, Iran, Nepal, and New Zealand since 2004.

Park Sang-Won’s photography is a unique blend of “stadium-like imagination and punctum-like delusion.” The exhibition runs from April 8th to April 29th only at the E.K. Art Gallery, so make sure to attend if you’re interested in viewing Park Sang-Won’s stunning photography.

The E.K. Art Gallery is the perfect venue for this exhibition, providing artists with a nurturing environment to showcase their creativity. Founded by Director Eunice Kim, the gallery is a community-inspired space that connects artists with art lovers and collectors. The 20,000 square foot gallery is beautifully designed, and the ample on-site parking makes it easily accessible.

Overall, Park Sang-Won’s photo exhibition is a must-see event, and we encourage everyone to attend and support the artist. It’s an excellent opportunity to appreciate the artistry of both Park Sang-Won, the photographer, and Park Sang-Won, the actor.
