Curtis Stone, Moveable Feast with Fine Cooking News – Moveable Feast with Fine Cooking fires up Season 5 by tapping renowned chef Curtis Stone as a new co-host and by covering even more ground. The award-winning food and travel adventure series announced today that it is expanding its footprint and touring diverse locales beyond American shores this seasonbringing viewers to Europe and Puerto Rico, in addition to points in the U.S.to meet Michelin star chefs and award-winning food artisans for memorable culinary experiences and spontaneous savory spreads around the globe. Produced by WGBH and Fine Cooking magazine, and distributed by American Public Television, the 13 all-new episodes premiere on public television stations beginning Saturday, September 2, 2017 (check local listings).

For the first time this season, the series features three separate hosts. New co-host Curtis Stone takes viewers on the American leg of the journey visiting a number of coastal areas, the bread basket of California and other destinations in the Pacific Northwest, such as Seattle, WA, Carmel CA, and San Luis Obispo, CA, and down to Santa Fe, NM, and Taos, NM, to experience the local flavors of the Southwest, with its corn and chilies. The series’popular longtime host and award-winning Australian chef Pete Evans takes the reins for the European adventure traveling to Italy to explore the culinary capital of Bologna, Polesine Parmense, Livorno, and Vercelli, and visiting the south of France and Paris, stopping along the way in Cadenet, Provence and Dijon, Burgundy. The series also taps James Beard Award-winning chef Michelle Bernstein, who is known for her Latin-style flavors of cooking, as a special guest host when the Moveable Feast rolls to Old San Juan, Puerto Rico.

In each episode of Moveable Feast with Fine Cooking, the hosts meet with local chefs known for their innovative cuisine, distinctive flavors and regional styles. Viewers follow along as they source fresh regional ingredients for their dishes and meet with food purveyors and artisans. The hosts and chefs collaborate to prepare a spontaneous multi-course menu for an eclectic group of diners who sit down to enjoy spectacular pop-up meals hosted in stunning and often surprising settings. At each featured location, viewers have the opportunity to learn about the chefs, their culinary styles and gastronomic muses, and experience their characteristic approach to creating both new recipes and classic traditional dishes. The series also explores the locally sourced food as the co-hosts embark on intriguing artisan field trips.

Grab a fork, and a seat, at the table with Moveable Feast:

•Visit the Culinary Institute of Bologna in the food capital of Italy with host Pete Evans and learn why the Po River Valley gives its famed Grana Padano such distinguished flavor.

• Take a tour with the master of Culatello, Massimo Spigaroli, who reveals his mesmerizing cellar where his prized salumi lines the ceiling and walls and prepares a scrumptious meal surrounded by fresh produce, a peacock, and livestock on his family’s estate on the edge of the Po River.

• Join U.S. chefs Bryan Voltaggio and Pamela Sheldon Johns for a tour of Livorno’s Venetian-style canals and Mercato Centrale for a seaside themed escapade.

• Visit hand-flooded fields to see how local rice is grown with bearded brothers, chefs Christian and Manuel Costardi, renowned for their risotto.

• Harvest salt from the pink waters in Aigues Mortes, France, and enjoy a delicious meal with the Sammuts, the mother-daughter chef team who meld classic techniques with allergy-conscious ingredients to create delightful gluten-free dishes.

• Revel in the most opulent feast the series has ever thrown in one of France’s finest estates prepared by award-winning chefs Jean-Michel Lorain and Nicolas Isnard.
• Head to Paris where culinary icons Patricia Wells and Guy Savoy collaborate on a comforting and classic French feast.
• Board a seaplane and go mussel farming with chefs Tom Douglas and Renee Erickson, followed by a feast at a winery in Woodinville, WA.

• Learn how wine is made when co-host Curtis Stone visits winemaker David Coventry, forage for seaweed and search for sea urchins off the coast of Carmel, and then enjoy a pop-up meal prepared by chefs Justin Cogley and James Syhabout.

• See the oyster beds of the Morro Bay Oyster Company and dine with organic and sustainability-focused chef David Rosner and three-time James Beard award-winning chef Sherry Yard.

• Search for bee honey at The Rooted Leaf and Chimayo chiles at El Jardin Chile de Chimayo with Curtis Stone and Santa Fe chef Martin Rios.

• Harvest the ancient heirloom blue corn in the high mountains of Taos Pueblo, then delight in a vibrant Tex-Mex meal made by chefs Chris Maher and Andrew Horton.

Join guest host and chef Michelle Bernstein on a trip to Puerto Rico — where chefs Kevin Roth and Ventura Vivoni prepare a feast made with seafood from the local markets and fresh produce from the Frutos del Guacabo, a unique consortium of evolving Puerto Rican farms.
