Billboard and Chevrolet announced Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars as the finalists for the new Milestone Award

Billboard and Chevrolet announced Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars as the finalists for the new Milestone Award to be presented at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 19 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.  Fan voting for the three finalists will continue online with the winner being announced during this year’s broadcast.

The newly announced editorial award will go to an innovative artist that achieved a notable chart milestone over the past year.  The initial six nominees for the 2013 Milestone Award presented by Chevrolet included  Justin Bieber, The Band Perry, Miguel, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Pitbull.

Voting for the three finalists is now open on Billboard.com/milestone.  Voting will continue all the way through 10/9 c during the live Billboard Music Awards, culminating with the announcement of the award winner toward the end of the show presented by Cee Lo Green.

“All six finalists achieved admirable milestones in their own right over the past year, but the fans have spoken, and these final three innovative artists have captured the most votes to date,” said Bill Werde, Editorial Director, Billboard. “We are excited to see who comes out on top when the award is announced live on the show.”

The 2013 Billboard Music Awards will broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 19th at 8|7c on ABC. And stay tuned for a special milestone surprise during the show.
