After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles (ASAS-LA) today announced the unveiling of its inaugural DESIGNING DREAMS Holiday Fashion Show & Toy Drive to be held at the glamorous London West Hollywood on December 11, 2013, 7:00pm 11:00pm. The evening will benefit inner-city LA youth that reside in low-income communities throughout LA and who are members of the award-winning After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles programs. This all-ages holiday event will feature a fashion show with some of todays hottest designers in apparel, shoes, jewelry and accessories, and the toy drive guest donations will help ASAS-LA to deliver desired toys and much needed holiday joy to thousands of inner-city youth in ASAS-LA programs.
Taking place on the rooftop of The London West Hollywood, DESIGNING DREAMS will be centered around the fashion runway/stage with live DJ music throughout the evening and will also feature a luxurious VIP cocktail hour, Hors dOeuvres designed by the culinary team of award winning Chef Gordon Ramsay, and a silent auction with many incredible items including pieces donated from the designers preview collections to raise additional funds for the cause. The acclaimed John Paul Mitchell Systems styling team will be creating trend-setting hair, makeup, and choreography for the event.
ASAS-LA brings innovative, cutting-edge academic and enrichment programs to K-12 students that contribute to reducing drug use, crime and violence; while increasing their safety during the after school hours. ASAS-LA serves over 9,300 students daily across 48 schools located in deserving areas throughout LA County. The organization believes that an interest in the arts should not be limited by socioeconomic circumstances and offers visual and performing arts, fashion, design, and sewing programs to its students.
DESIGNING DREAMS will showcase student design collections and give guests the opportunity to participate in an intimate and inspirational celebration which will leave them uplifted and motivated from the experience, knowing they did their part in spreading holiday cheer to the LA youth that need it the most.
