THE 2013 SESAC POP MUSIC AWARDS TO HONOR TOP SONGWRITERS AND PUBLISHERS ON MAY 13 AT THE NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY

SESAC, the nation’s most progressive performing rights organization and the biggest songwriters, producers, industry executives and artists of 2012 including: Daniel Glass, music executive, CEO and Founder of Glassnote Records and SESAC’s “Visionary Award” recipient; with appearances by R&B singer and member of Destiny’s Child, Michelle Williams; Grammy Award winning recording artist, Melanie Fiona; Grammy award winning songwriter, producer and artist Bryan-Michael Cox; award winning songwriter, producer and last year’s SESAC Songwriter of the Year recipient, Rico Love (“Without You” David Guetta featuring Usher, “Heart Attack” Trey Songz, “Motivation” Kelly Rowland featuring Lil Wayne and more); award winning songwriter, Angela Hunte (“Empire State of Mind”, featured on Snoop Lion’s album, Reincarnated); hip-hop artist, Joe Budden; DJ and VH1 personality, Kid Capri; producer/songwriter Nikhil Seetharam (“Make Me Proud” Drake featuring Nicki Minaj); producer/songwriter Jacob Lutrell (“Finally Found You” Enrique Iglesias feat. Sammy Adams); songwriter, Earl Hood; 106 & Park co-hosts Miss Mykie, Paigion, and Shorty Da Prince; and exclusive performances by buzzing R&B-funk singer- songwriter and Prince protégé, Andy Allo; and soul-pop singer and Maroon 5 keyboardist, PJ Morton.

WHAT: The 2013 SESAC Pop Music Awards will honor the top songwriters and publishers of 2012 with special awards presented to the Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year, Publisher of the Year and many more.

 

CEO and Founder of Glassnote Records, Daniel Glass, will be presented with the special “Visionary Award” in recognition of his tireless dedication to songwriters and immeasurable contributions to the music industry.

 

This year’s gala features special performances by two of SESAC’s new buzzing signings: Prince’s protégé and R&B-funk artist Andy Allo, and Lil Wayne’s most recent edition to Young Money Entertainment, PJ Morton.

 

Andy Allo, the Cameroon, Africa born singer-songwriter and guitarist writes larger than life, multi-layered songs combining lyrical depth with a vast array of genres. Prince served as the Executive Producer of Andy’s debut album, Superconductor, which features tracks co-written by Andy and Prince.

 

PJ Morton, R&B- soul singer and keyboardist for Maroon 5, is releasing his  major label debut album, New Orleans, on Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment. The album includes guests such as Stevie Wonder on the lead single “Only You,” as well as Adam Levine and Busta Rhymes.

 

The invitation-only, red carpet event is one of the most popular music gatherings in the industry. With special guest appearances and performances from some of the year’s biggest hit-makers, the SESAC Pop Music Awards is a must-see.
